The history of the Lower Rhine region comes to life at the open-air museum in Grefrath. Here, where the peasant and artisan culture of the region seem to be within reach, a range now extends to contemporary industrial craftsmanship: the Nuremberg based architectural office Köppen Rumetsch intentionally decided on the simple, formally attractive design of Thonet’s S 180 when the task was to find a new seating system for the newly renovated seminar and event area.
The tubular steel programme range S 180 is especially suitable for the requirements in the contract segment: the lean form of the stackable chairs and quick-click gliders enable fast and safe assembly and disassembly in addition to the maximum use of space. The chair designed by Delphin Design owes its special dynamics and striking character to its skid frame made of chrome-plated tubular steel. 100 pieces of the S 180 are used in the open-air museum.
