MÜNZING CHEMIE GMBH IN ABSTATT

In 1830, Friedrich Michael Münzing founded the Münzing Chemie GmbH, which is internationally active today. The company is family-managed to this day and covers different sites in Europe, America, Asia and Australia. The modern, completely glazed headquarters are located in Abstatt, near the city of Heilbronn, where it was founded. Affectionately named “The Think Tank” by CEO Michael Münzing, it provides room for offices and conference rooms as well as generously large laboratories for research and development. Shaped like a circular arc, the striking building encloses a landscaped courtyard with a pond.

For the open and modern interior, Thonet supplied around 100 cantilever chairs of the popular range S 32/S 64 by Marcel Breuer (artistic copyright Mart Stam). The architects from the Heilbronn based office “müller.architekten” chose light oak wood with wicker cane to complement the light-flooded spaces. In the entrance area, 36 chairs model S 64 are grouped around small bistro tables and offer employees the possibility to have short meetings or spend their breaks. Other beech wood chairs with black stained seats and backrests establish highlights in various offices and conference rooms.
