James Irvine
Born in London, James Irvine graduated in 1984 from the Royal College of Art, London. In the same year he moved to Milan. From 1984 to 1992, he was a design consultant for Olivetti design studio Milan, under the direction of Michele De Lucchi and Ettore Sottsass. In 1988, he opened his private design studio in Milan – Studio Irvine. From 1993 to 1997, in parallel to his private studio, he was a partner of Sottsass Associati, responsable for the studio's industrial design group. James Irvine designed numerous products for Thonet (A 660, A 1660, S 5000, S 123, S 1123) and advised the company from 2007-2011 in the position of art director.
Marialaura Rossiello-Irvine
Born on the slopes of Vesuvius, Italy, Marialaura Rossiello-Irvine graduated in Architecture in Naples under Riccardo Dalisi in 1996. In 2000 she continued her studies and acquired a master’s degree in Strategic Design at Politecnico di Milano. For a number of years, she collaborated with various renowned Italian design brands before joining Studio Irvine as a partner in 2011. Today, Marialaura Rossiello-Irvine is head of Studio Irvine and leads an interdisciplinary team in a well-connected network within the international design scene.
