In business almost 220 years, the Mecklenburgische Versicherungsgruppe is the oldest German private insurance company with trans-regional operations and the oldest existing hailstorm insurer worldwide. A new office building opened in 2016 near the directorate on Berckhusenstraße in Hanover. The office Kaspar Kraemer Architekten BDA designed the new building, which offers space for 170 employees.
The Cologne based architectural office collaborated with Hirsch Architekten from Hildesheim for the interior design. Together, they developed a concept for the different offices and chose Thonet’s chair range S 56 PFST to furnish the conference room and large auditorium. The team of architects used 100 tubular steel cantilever chairs in a special version. Extra-high backrests and special upholstery at the customer’s request provide comfortable seats for lectures and meetings – in rows or grouped around a large conference table.
