LANDHAUS PFLEGE & WOHNEN, HANOVER

The Landhaus Pflege & Wohnen is located on a former farm on the outskirts of Hanover. In addition to a high level of living comfort and professional care, the senior assisted living and nursing home facility offers its inhabitants a wide range of activities. An extensive, lovingly designed garden landscape is included on the 10,000 m² property along with the traditional country house and modern buildings. The institution already had 50 years of successful and warm-hearted care to look back on when it decided to add a new building due to the high demand. As part of this extension, a generous, open cafeteria for the inhabitants and their guests as well as other community rooms were created in addition to new living spaces. The architects of Kontor Büro- und Objekteinrichtungen from Hanover decided to use high-quality Thonet seating furniture in the design of the public areas.

They used 100 elegant armrest chairs model 210 P, a design by Gebrüder Thonet dating back to the year 1900. This traditional bentwood classic with upholstered backrest and seat in the “Pure Materials” version with light, oiled ash wood enhances the cafeteria of the Landhaus Pflege & Wohnen. The chairs are additionally equipped with a ThonetMed® cover in sapphire blue. This special artificial leather is very durable and has integrated moisture protection, which makes it especially suitable for use in the assisted living and nursing home sectors.

Various Thonet table ranges, some in special dimensions, were also used at the Landhaus Pflege & Wohnen in addition to seating furniture. Several column tables model S 1123 by James Irvine in two versions with table tops in different sizes, combined with the bentwood chairs 210 P, form small seating groups distributed across the entire new building as places of retreat. The tables are formally simple, robust and easy to care for. They are perfectly suitable for the assisted living and nursing home sectors and discretely integrate with the bright interior design concept, which unites classicism and modernism.
