Thonet features in new extension to the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians headquarters in Schleswig-Holstein
With its new extension in Bad Segeberg, the Schleswig-Holstein Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians has created a modern conference venue with a plenary hall that can accommodate up to 120 delegates. The newbuild, designed by the architects from Riemann Gesellschaft von Architekten in Lübeck, features an elegant natural stone façade that blends in seamlessly with the pre-existing structure. The plenary hall has meeting rooms on either side, with administrative offices directly above it. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the hall with daylight, accentuating the structure of the wood panelling on the walls and ceiling.
The interior design is based around the tables: Thonet’s A 1700 Evo range, which has been specially developed for meetings and conferences. It features innovative media technology and as well as being aesthetically pleasing also meets all the technical requirements of a modern workspace. The A 1700 Evo is suited for fixed table configurations that are custom-made to fit the room dimensions as well as for multi-use spaces, since the tables can be easily set up and taken down without tools. A wide variety of different configurations can be created from the individual standard elements in this range. For this project, the planners selected a version with circular elements in a Noce naturale veneer, complete with wooden privacy screens, aluminium legs, connectors, media modules and cable routing in the table legs. The same version was used for the podium, here with a rectangular tabletop.
