Today, we take the form and aesthetics of tubular steel furniture for granted. They represent legendary milestones in design history. 100 years ago, the Bauhaus moved from Weimar to Dessau. The Bauhaus instructors Marcel Breuer, Mart Stam and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe were experimenting with cold bent tubular steel and inventing the cantilever chair, all with Thonet, a producer with no lack of pioneering spirit, by their side.
